Lord Nelson's Prayer
MAY THE GREAT GOD, whom I worship, grant to my country and for the benefit of Europe in general, a great and glorious victory: and may no misconduct, in anyone, tarnish it: and may humanity after victory be the predominant feature in the British Fleet.
For myself Individually, I commit my life to Him who made me and may His blessing light upon my endeavours for serving my Country faithfully. To Him I resign myself and the just cause which is entrusted to me to defend.

Episcopalian Temple Visit
Like Dante, who saw God face to face but had no words to describe the encounter, I have few words to describe what I felt in that moment. But I can say this: While it did not convert me, nor did it make me want to be a Mormon, the silence and peace I felt reminded me of the many other times I've felt close to God.
Apostles Spreading the Word!
Aren't the truths he speaks filled with the confirming feelings of the Spirit! Aren't the words he uses easy to understand and to realize things as they really are. What a great authorized voice he has. It's invigoratingly different than many of the voices we hear today -- full of belief, direction, and conviction. What mercy and love our Lord shows us by spreading His Word of hope among us.
Growing the Fire of my Faith
I just finished, after a Internet-disabled intermission, the 3 episodes of Fires of Faith, a series on ByuTV the miraculous history of the creation of the English Bible, culminating in the King James version. The presentation was so well done. I was left with an impression of the stunning breadth of history and effort and sacrifice that was given to provide me the opportunity to have the Bible and to read it, hear it, and grow from the contained teachings and my own experience with it.
The words of the Bible are true accounts, and I am very grateful to those that gave very literally their lives to write it, translate, and provide it.
"I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held... And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season..." Revelation 6:9,11
Religions Elevates
The greatest advantage of religion is to inspire…principles. There is no religion which does not place the object of man’s desires above and beyond the treasure of earth, and which does not naturally raise his soul to regions far above those of the senses.
